There is a website (& store) that sells mats that have missing ink marks (manufacturing defect) for discounted prices.
I think it is Quilter's Rule International. You might check there.

With the quilt marked where you want to cut it, you can slide it along your mat, cut that portion, then slide it down more. You don't have to worry too much about marking the quilt because the edge is going to be covered with the binding.
Thanks for that hint paperprincess I can sure use that idea is it like a yard stick but 6'?

I had two mats taped together for a while and it seemed to work for me. I taped them on the back and used packing tape. I could also fold them for storage under the bed.

Yes, it's aluminum, about 2" wide, 6 feet long & bright yellow. It was $11, which I thought was a bargain.

Where did you find that ruler? Sounds like a nice thing to have handy.

I got my new flyer from Joann's yesterday and there are 2--60% off coupons that can be used between Nov. 7-11. One for a regular priced item the other for your total purchase fo regular-priced notions wall items. Might want to check them out if you haven't already.

I received the same coupons. Enablers. Guess I"ll have to make a trip to use them. It's been a while since I've shopped there but this time of year , good for those quilters in my life for gifts....Happy shopping.
Need a nice new cutting mat as well.
