I haven't seen any mention of the Houston Quilt Show, 4-7 November on this board recently. I'm going! Yeah, just decided to take the plunge. I won't be taking any classes so I have 2 days to do whatever I wish.

Anyone have recommendations as to how to spend my time wisely? (The only thing I "need" to buy is a table that will allow my machine to sit flush with the table top.)

I haven't been to the Quilt Show, but I did get to go to Quilt Market (the business trade show) last year ... and it was wonderful!

Actually, three of us went and it was as though we had each attended completely different events, as we split up and were each drawn to totally different booths.

You're going to have a wonderful time! I can't advise you on how to use your time other than to go with the flow and just enjoy it fully!

Make sure you rest up before going. My friend goes and she says you have to work out before you go as it is soooooooo much walking. Have a great time!

debbieumphress is planning on going and meeting up with several other board members. I'd send her a pm and see where everyone was going to meet up.

If you go anywhere near Watkins Glen, there is a quilt shop
that has a retreat place above the store. You need to check
it out. "O'Susannah's" Upper Room...

It will take all of your two days to see everything at the show. You will love it but will see quilts with your eyes closed for days after. I went every year for 12 years when I lived in Houston.Enjoy!

Wear comfortable shoes and take breaks. You can go outside, get a coffee and sit & relax in the park right outside or the Starbucks has an outside patio. Pace yourself.

You will love it!
