Train Quilt Pattern for an Adult

Hi! My name is Stella. I am looking for a train quilt pattern for my adult cousin who is dying from cancer. His one request is that I make him a quilt pieced together with a train, tracks and rolling through a city (possibly). He said "you'll figure out how to do it" ... I appreciate his faith in me, but I need some HELP. Is there anyone out there who can direct me to a site where I can find any of these components; I can put them all together at my end.

Maybe a panel is the answer if you're looking to get this done very quickly. I saw this on ebay and it is a full yard panel. Lionel Panel on e-bay
I know that a pieced quilt would be the best, but sometimes sooner is better; especially when time is short.

How is your applique abilities ? I think that would be the best way to go ! Here is a train pattern : http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/Toddler%20Designs.html
The tracks would just be black fabric in strips . Here is a church and some houses : http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/Miscellany%20Designs.html
