    I am trying to machine quilt on a Singer creative touch 1036.I bought it used--so dont know the age of it.I bought a darning foot today for it at a qs.The feed dogs dont drop--does anyone have any sugestions??

    Cover it. A business card works well. Cut a small hole for needle, tape to machine bed over feed dogs.

    I use to FMQ with my feed dogs up without a problem. It is just another choice.

    You can cover the feed dogs withno problem.

    If you don't have a plate to cover your feed dogs that's ok, you don't have to drop your feed dogs, just set your stitch length to zero, this doesn't drop the feed dogs, but it does lower them, attach your darning foot, and go. Should work just fine.

    I also just put the stitch length to zero and don't cover them. Be sure to lower your presser foot!!!

    if you do cover, don't forget to make a hole for your needle!!
