How do you know the year a feather weight was born?

I am look at fearther weights. How can you tell the birth year. Thanks for any help.

Look on the bottom of the machine for the serial number, then go here: http://www.singerco.com/support/machine-serial-numbers and look up your serial number. Singer used to have much more specific pages up-I know my FW serial number was issued on April 1, 1941-but they've apparently taken those down. I'm sure someone saved them though, so you can probably find them by googling.
