Has anyone been to the Dallas Quilt Show coming up March 11-13 at Market Hall? Also are there any quilt shops in the Metroplex area that you recommend? We will be in the area several days.

I don't know anything about the quilt shops in the area - but thanks for posting this, I didn't realize there was a quilt show going on that weekend, and we may be in Dallas around then.

There was a thread about this a few days ago:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-101914-1.htm

There are some suggestions for good quilt shops in Dallas Forth Worth.

And I think a few years ago I did go to the one in Carrolton, but don't remember much about it except there were a lot of cute fabrics but they were more expensive than I liked to pay at that time. But I buy a lot more quilt shop fabrics now (at quilt shop prices).

Will be coming in for the show. There is another post about maybe meeting at the show. There are some nice quilt stores but as with any big city it entails driving. I can't remember all the stores we went to last year as I was not driving so wasn't paying attention to detail-just hop out of the car when we get to a store and enjoy. I'm sure members from the area will post as to the best places.

Here are a few of the shops, Quilt Country in Lewisville, Past Times in Gainesville, Kalidescope (sp.) in Whitesboro, Sewing Boutique in Collinsville, then over to Hwy 380 and Minding My Ps & Qs before you go on up to McKinney to the Quilt Asylum. You can map this out and make a circle going back from McKinney through Plano and Richardson to Dallas. You can Google quilt shops in Texas for exact addresses and have your own personal shop hop. Enjoy the show.

I always attend the Dallas Quilt show and always have a great time and go home with lots of ideas and motivated to sew non-stop for days! I also go to Quilt Country located on the westside of I35 at Fox Ave in Lewisville,it has a great selection of fabrics and examples, they give you lots of time to browse and look, if you need any assistance, all you need to do is ask, they are more than helpful. Also like The Old Craft Store in Carrollton, downtown on the square, the people are very friendly and there are lots of examples to get you motivated, as well as all the other little shops on the square.
