I was looking at all the URR threads and I have always wanted to do that quilt. I have pulled fabrics out and I will do the 15 inch blocks as I do the FW quilt along too.

MiHolmes have you started yours yet? I have the Bar Brackman book and all those blocks are in block base if you have that program. I have searched and found some of the blocks that are being used. You can also find some of these blocks if not all, on the web for free. Here is a list of the blocks that I will use all of or some, haven't decided yet.

    Underground blocks
    basket block
    drunkards path
    crossroads
    flying geese
    hour glass
    log cabin
    monkey wrench
    north star
    underground railroad block
    Lincoln’s platform
    shoo fly
    carpenters wheel
    bow tie
    northern star
    chained star
    lost ship
    Sail boat
    Rocky road to kansas
    wagon wheel.
    Bear paw
    cotton boll
    cabin windows
    slave chain
    Christmas star
    Triple link chain
    Charm
    aunt Dinah
    Creole puzzle
    Jacob’s ladder
    Catch me if you can
    Trip around the world
    Beauregard surrounded
    birds in the air

If you know of any other blocks please post them. I also have some Novelty fabric of small pics of Lincoln, that Rosemary Y. sent me some time ago and I will incorporate just one into a block.

Here are the pic of the fabrics I pulled. I had some Pat Sloane fabric that I has scoured the web for. I wanted it for a special project and have lost interest in it now lol. I also had some CW fabric and then I pulled some that could pass.

I will be working on those blocks and the FW, which I am 13 blocks ahead anyway.

I have a table behind me where I put the fabrics that I am using at the time. This set is for the FW. These are odds and ends and they stay there all the time. I am using these also to make the cats from Muriel's quilt.

The second pic is my Pat Sloan collection.
The third pic is what I pulled from my stash. It's the whole front row lol, Aren't stashes great? And that is what the table looks like right now.

Three quilts will be made, UUR, FW and the cat quilt.

ods and end for cat and Fw quilt

Check out this site. Shows that the story of quilts being used in the Underground Railroad is really a myth.

I really don't care. I love the idea, the blocks are wonderful and it exist for those who choose to believe. If it's a myth like Greek mythology and giants and dragons, then I love all of it lol.....

Paleontologist have unearthed large giant bones on some greek island. ..does that mean that giants really existed, of course the did...history doesn't record everything.....
