Default How to Label Quilt Before Baby is Born

I'm making a baby quilt for my niece and giving it to her at the baby shower next week. The baby is due in September. I want to personalize the quilt with a label. Do you have any suggestions on what I can write on the label without knowing what the baby's name is? The Mom and Dad to be think they are having a boy based on a sonogram they had.

Thanks,

Maybe you could give quilt without label, then when you go see the baby first time, take a label and sew it on the quilt then. ?

How about using the label that AZjane put on a quilt? Families are like quilts....lives pieced together, stitched with smilies and tears, colored with memories and bound by love. OR the cute little heart that wolph33 did...Even when we are far apart....You are always in my heart. You can just sign it ...Love Auntie.....

I just hand embroidered one last night that I wrote: Quilted Cuddles made just for you by Great Great Auntie E......
I always used to wait until the baby was born and make a computer label with the name-date-weight but even using the Bubblejet set treated fabrics, I found that the labels faded quite badly after many washings.

You could leave space for the name and after the baby is born write it on with permanent ink or fabric markers.

My granddaughter and I got together before her baby came and made a quilt. The plan was to name the baby Grace, which is what the label says, however, they changed their minds and named her Annika!! We just left it and laugh about it now.

Great advice! Thanks to all. I think I'll put a partial label on now and write or embroider baby's name on later.
