At this point I am curious. The ones I have been in 2 out of three have been good. What has been your experience

I used to be on a group that was just swaps. and I found that I often .....not always.... but often got dollar fabric from walmart sent back to me or did not get anything back.. at all. Or just really wild fabric that I wouldn't use I think swaps can be great if regulated more.. and specific ;) a good way to increase your stash... and fun time to get mail ;)>> with FABRIC In it ............what is better??

I had been in 2 or 3 a few years ago, but was disapointed with some fabric that came from another country. It did not really appeal to me. Also, I prefer not to pre-wash my fabric and many others do, so I wonder if it would work well with mine.

I always was worried someone wouldn't like what I sent, and i see alot of people critisize material purchases alot. If you have preferences, that is one thing, but not all of us can afford lqs material.
But I decided I wanted to try anyway, there are 2 swaps on here that I just couldn't resist, so I hope no one is dissapointed in my pieces.

The swaps I have joined in the past (not from this forum) were disappointing. I felt most of the blocks were made at the last minute to just get it done and sent to me. I don't mind WalMart or chain store fabric but when I asked for any blue color I got blocks made from yellow, orange, black..every color but blue. I think once I was sent orphan blocks just lying around. The only swaps I'll join will be one that has very strict rules no matter what they are only that they are rules and the ones that do not follow the rules be named on the board.

I joined a few on here....still ongoing. I am enjoying the blocks I am recieving and I guess I am just accepting of everyone's skill levels. I hope no one is disappointed in mine. But I do enjoy the swaps because I have no one in this area to swap blocks or fabric with.

For the most part...insecurity. I worry that what I send will either not be good enough, liked, or be enough for the person I send to.

I did the Secret Santa swap this year, and I still worry about what I sent to Jerrie, and often wonder if she is able to use what I sent! (Now that I see more of Jerrie's posts, I know that the fat quarters I sent could have been MUCH different for her tastes!)

It boils down to the idea that I usually refrain from swaps because I don't want to disappoint anyone... :)

I have been in a few swaps..mostly fabric ones..
(i-spy,stings(2.5 inch of a certain fabric ,like 30's), or nickel swaps. I hosted a swap once, and 2 people flaked out on it, and i ended up having to make 2 sets of 6 or 12 blocks to make up for it.
