What do you like to use to fill your pincushions?
like one of the other replies I have used scraps, cotton balls, and i did save some sawdust from one of my DH's projects for the next one. The one I have made [vs the one i inherited!] are usually made using jar or bottle lids and then a circle of scrap material gather to fit and glued into the lid. I did get some very cute patterns from a library book " Pretty Little Pincushions" Lark books 2007, Susan Brill ed. - maybe I'll do one of those!

I collect pincushions so I have them everywhere and usually use them at different times. I have a little turtle that has the pincushion on his back and I used him when I sewed for my granddaughter. I love pincushions.

I have found this thread so interesting. I have such a variety of pins and needles because of the kind of work I have done over the years. I have pins from 3/4" to 6". Needles up to 12". They all have their own pincushions which I've made from leftover scraps of upholstery velvet. One is even made from burlap. I fill them with pine sawdust from under the table saw. I have also used poly stuffing.
I love my sewing room and all of my machines. I'm recovering from heart bypass. It cheers me up to just be with all my sewing goodies.
