Thread: How much selvage do you cut?

I do something different. cut 1/2 inch off and slip knot them end to end to crochet into rag rugs. My guild friends save theirs for me too, or I make a "trash" run at the end of the day!

I cut them at least an additional inch. I use my selvages in string quilts because I think it adds interest to the blocks. I have seen some awesome string blocks made totally with selvages- I would never have enough though to do that unfortunately
