I just completed putting together a Carpenter's Star. I'm making it a lap quilt for a friend. Besides SID, how can I quilt it? Where would you put feathers? I do FMQ on my home sewing machine. I've been learning to do feathers, but I'm not good at a wreath. Do you know of any pictures on the board of feathered quilting of a Carpenter's Star? Any suggestions?

If you feel you are not good at feathered wreaths then do feathers in the borders and continuous curves in the center of all the star points and background units.

When you say continuous curves...do you mean a meandering stipple? Feathers on the borders sounds good. Thanks!!

No, it is a type of outline quilting that outlines focus seam lines. Google "continuous curve quilting" and you will get loads of hits including you tube how to videos. It is one of those types of things that is very hard to explain in words but very easy to understand once you see pictures.
