I have a Queen plus Lone Star - vintage top - done in SILK! and need to quilt it on my long-arm. I do not have a computer driven (IQ or other) and so will be looking for hand guided patterns.... ideas? thanks.

I'd look on an Amish quilt site to get ideas. I think their Lone Stars are among the prettiest I've seen. Usually done with straight quilting in the star and then lots of feathery wreaths in the corners. (Something I could Never do!!)
Please post a pic when you're finished-would love to see it. Good luck, esp with silk.

Although my lonestar is hand quilted this may give you some ideas. Here is a link to mine. I used a feather swag stencil and placed it so it formed the heart shape. Background is just a 1" grid and in the star I quilted 1/4" from every seam line.
