Default How to quilt?

Hi Everyone,

I have just finished a top that has 4 squares made up of 21 x 21 mini (1") squares. The large squares have smashing between them and are set 2 on top and 2 on the bottom.... Got the picture????

My question is... How do you think I should quilt this..... Meander would not be suitable.... Oh and the mini squares are made up of 10 different colours radiating outwards from the centre.... Sort of rainbowish!!!!!!

HELP!

Hugs

Caroline

perhaps a very simple stitch in the ditch, so nothing detracts from the piecing and design.

With out a pic. its hard to say but what about radiating lines from the center or a spiral from the center of each block .

Like mini-Trips Around the World?

I think SITD would distract from the pattern.
You end up looking at patches instead of the TATW.

I like mary's suggestions. They are good in that they accentuate the different colored bands, which is the design.

If you just want straight lines and no FMQ, then you can do concentric lines every (or every other) band.
(white lines are the stitching)

Don't have a suggestion, but love the image of ..."The large squares have smashing between them". Some of my quilts have smashing in them too ;-)

what about feathers, on the diagonal? do them evenly across the blocks so that they seem to be an overall pattern that will not detract from the effect of your beautiful rainbow.
