    How to Quilt This?

Hello, Fellow Quilters. I am at a loss as to how to quilt this. It is a lap quilt for a friend and I want her to be able to use it without worrying about laundering. I was thinking of an overall design, perhaps orange peel but I am not sure. I will do the quilting myself on my domestic machine and I am up for any suggestions.Name: IMG_0002.JPG

I was thinking Baptist Fan would make ripples.
I promise not to buy any more fabric until I see something I really like. Or it's on sale. Or I think it might match something.

stitch some lines going through the blocks that keep the movement of the wave pattern.

Love your S@S, and I notice you used a different alternate block, as I did. I quilted it with an edge to edge design, about 12" wide, but that was on a longarm, and the recipient loves it.

You might have to draw the outline on the quilt to follow a design like that - I use Frixion pens as they iron off.

i myself usually prefer to stitch in the ditch. Find some interesting design to quilt in the diamond and large square. Or you could sew arcs inside the triangles and diamonds from corner to corner. Beautiful fabrics you picked.

I agree with Nativetexan. I think an overall design with some movement, like an large spiral or something with a wave look would be good.

I too belong to the "love your gorgeous quilt, however, I don't have any quilting ideas for it" club. Although in looking at it again, I might be tempted to do stitch in the ditch around the larger diamonds that look rounded to make that design stand out better.
