Default How to Remove Permanent Marker from Quilt Leaders?

Hi, the previous owner of my new-to-me long arm marked the leaders with permanent marker - probably a Sharpie. They're not evenly marked at the start and end of each leader so I'd like to re-mark them.

Has anyone found a way to remove permanent marker? I'm trying blotting the mark with bleach but don't really see much of a change.

Thanks,
Cathy

I don't think you will get them off - I would go with the using a different color

this was my first thought also... it's certainly less expensive than making new leaders.

How about buying the liquid White Out or similar to over paint the marks?

Sounds weird but you might try hair spray. I once washed a shirt with sharpie in pocket and got it out that way. I'd have something to blot the marks with so they don't spread.

i used the little white sponge (dampen with water).that the bald man with the earring makes. Its always worked on my cutting mats.

Try using Oxyclean or the generic version that I paid $1 at Dollar Tree.. I bought a piece of fabric that had marker all over it, and soaked it.. Came back, and the marker was gone..

91% Isopropyl alcohol. It runs a bit more expensive - around 3.00 a quart - than the run of the mill 70% but it will remove Sharpie marker.
