I made this little bag/tote/purse whatever they call it these days this morning. I made my bottom 4 inches not 2 inches like the video shows. I also used a strip of floor laminate and covered it with material and placed it on the inside of the bag on the bottom to make it sturdy. and I would have made my handles wider not the 4 inch wide as the video shows. The bag and handles are quilted with batting...I am trying to turn the handles inside out and its impossible...does anyone have a neat treat they could share... here is the video how to make these...pretty easy no pattern needed. http://www.diynetwork.com/videos/qui...-bag/4732.html

I make my handles cutting a stip of fabric about 5 inches wide, fold the stip in half and press, open the stip and now fold each edge to the center, press, then fold in half and stitch one edge and then the other edge. You can add a stip of batting if you prefer a thicker handle. Hope this helps.

it looks like your handles also have batting in them, and that makes them extra hard to turn in such a small tube. If you've got enough fabric, making new ones would be easier.

Maggie_Sue's method is probably the easiest...I'd do all the pressing, then cut a strip of batting to fit in the middle two sections, refold the strip and sew. I'd then sew down the middle of the final strap to help hold the batting in place.

if you've already sewed them together try taking a big safety pin, pin to one end and feed through.

Done...I ended up redoing the handles to 6 inches - that was easy to turn inside out.

If you like the look of turned handles, for your next bag...fold the desired length in half, iron on the Pellon, and lay a long piece of twine on top, sew across top and down side, slowly pull on the twine and your handle will turn right side out. This is the way my grandmother taught me to make jumper straps when I was around 10 years old and I still use the method, low these 64 years later. PM me if you have any questions.
