Default How would you quilt this miniature quilt, help please

I have just finished piecing this miniature quilt and I just don't know how to quilt it. It measures 13 1/2" square, so the little squares in the centre of the snails trail blocks are 3/8". My family wonders what was I thinking
I thought either do STID around each of the colours, follow the blue around and the white or I thought a small stipple in either the blue or the white (but not both) so that one colour stands out?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have done some FMQ but definately never on such a small scale.
Thanks for your help

Hi Little RoO, welcome back Thanks for your kind comments, the mini is a first for me.
Things have been pretty hectic here too, so I haven't had as much time sewing as I would like. I am still working on a needleturn applique quilt, and hopefully will start another paper piecing project as soon as I finish this one. I'm itching to get behind my sewing machine.

I have done a few true miniatures and taken classes from Sally Collins whose mainly hand quilts. Thats not for me, but lovely. Normally with pieces this tiny i use MonoPoly and SID. On the Christmas one I did I SID with gold metallic. The SID was just right amount of quilting for something this small.

Thank for the tip of using MonoPoly, I didn't think of that and I have some that I haven't used yet.

It is beautiful! Have you thought of entering it in a show? I think I would look to see if there was a show in my area with prizes for miniatures. I would quilt it however the rules stated for the best prize money. If hand quilting I would quilt just inside the white and blue swirls so I wouldn't have to quilt through the thick areas. If machine quilting I think I might SITD along the lines and then echo stitch in the white sections.

Not sure how I'd quilt it; that part usually has to ruminate with me a bit. But what a beautiful quilt and fabulous workmanship--though your family may be right (IMHO). You inspire me to try this!

This is absolutely lovely. Quilting on miniatures always presents a problem, because the miniscule patchwork takes center stage and the quilting is an only enhancement. I like Tartan's suggestions.
