When you have a purse lets say for sale are you always perfect with everything you do to it. I know we all want it to be and I know that alotttttttttttt of you here are. At least I know I am not.
I like to use my chalk roller type (pencil, not exacately sure what this one is called) the only color I have is blue and used for alot of my projects. The thing is that if I don't wipe it, the white thread doesn't look real white and when I try to wipe it, it seems to not come off all the way. If you have one does this happen to you? Does it eventually come out when washed? And what about the stitching? I feel like I am so picky. But if I want to sell something it has to look its best to me. By the way I have other pencils and a white(soap?) chalk pencil but they don't always seem to work very well for me so I use the one with the wheel.

I think perfection is something we all aim for to a degree.
At least I want something I make to be the best I can make it. The more we practise anything the better we become at what we are doing. Experience is the best teacher...
With all that said, none of us are perfect and never will be. We can continue to strive to be better at what we do and that's all we can do.

I don't sell anything handmade. I'm very particular about what I make and even when it's for a family member I'm always striving for perfection.That causes me to enjoy the process less. It's really silly b/c my loved ones don't care in the least. They love anything I make.
Strange b/c I'm not a perfectionist in most things but when making a gift I'm a bit overboard.

i use the chalk wheel markers all the time, blue, white and yellow are my favorites...and yes, they will brush off-wear off...although i do always test on a hidden spot. i had pink chalk that did not want to come off one time, now i always test, but i've not had a problem with any of the other colors, just pink.

If any one purchased a ready made item from a store, I can assure you it is not perfect. Since I am a seamtress besides a quilter, I am amazed at the sloppy work on ready made clothes, bedding, etc.
Like some of you said, try your best, none of us are perfect.
