I recently received a pattern from my September secret pal to make a bow tuck tote. After reading the instructions I think I've scared myself. I'm new to the world of quilting and sewing and I'm just wondering are bow tucks really hard to make? Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I know a bunch of you have made them and they've turned out beautiful.

The pattern is really pretty easy. I'm pattern chalenged, so I was afraid to try it forever. Finally just got it out one day and started. I've just finished my 3rd bow tuck today. Just read the pattern twice through, and go step by step and it will turn out great.

It took me a while to get up the nerve to make one. I did read the directions many times. Finally I started, and was a little confused, even following the step by step directions. Then I looked at the tutorial one of our fellow board members posted (complete with pictures) and it all made sense. Look at the tutorial, it will help.

Check out this pictorial tutorial here:

It will help you visualize what the pattern is saying.
I have no sewing experience outside of my recent quilting ventures and I pulled it off. You can do it!

Thank you so much for your help and confidence in me. I think I might head over to the fabric store this weekend and maybe make my first bow tuck.
