Was on a hunt today...

actually looking for iced-tea spoons, you know, the ones with the long handles,(very hard to find these days, old or new), stopped at a local antique store, while browsing, of course I have to look at quilts, I found an old cedar chest with several quilts in it. I dug around and in the bottom I found a depression era quilt top that was completely pieced with a basket block out of 30's and 40's prints with a white block background and aqua sashing..in very good condition, a few light brown spots, but overall GREAT! The asking price was $30..(found a sticker where the vendor must have picked it up for a $1.00 at a garage sale!) I am pondering going to pick it up tomorrow to finish it, any thoughts? Good price?

I don't know about the price on the quilt top(I'll bet it was really very nice), but I have those iced tea spoons!! You can find them down here in fleamarkets & antique malls. I don't even drink iced tea anymore, but my DM gave me the spoons so I'll hang on to them.

I didn't know the ice tea spoons were hard to find. My grandmother's silverware has them and I've always loved them. I'm from Texas where people drink "ISE Tea". I've never used them here in Seattle but you've reminded me to do just that! Thanks! And don't you just LOVE finding antiques at a great price! The quilt sounds like a deal but I always bargain!
