My husband is a major enabler. He loves coming fabric shopping with me. The problem is, I get buyer's remorse and try to stick to a budget, while he's trying to talk me into more fabric, kits, machines, books, patterns, etc etc etc. I try to go shopping when he isn't with me, just to save us money!

Looks like this post is going viral! LOL

I threaten my husband with punishment all the time - I then grab his face and plant a smoocheroo on him and say "There - take that!" For some reason he never complains about his punishment.

My husband has a much better sense of color than I do, plus he is very patient. Fabric shopping with him works out great for me!!

I wouldn't dream of taking my Darling Hubby Unit to a Fabric Store any more than he would dream of taking me to an electronics store. We'd both be bored stiff. Hubby has no idea what to do in a fabric store, and NO sense of color. Ditto the same type of thing with me and electronics. We have our stores where we have fun together, and that's where we go and have a blast! And punishment? Not in this household! Not either one of us!

I think some folks are taking the word "punishment" too dang seriously.

We could use the word henpecked then.

I can't imagine my husband going IN to the quilt shop with me! He sits outside on a bench and smokes his cigars. This is only when we are on vacation and we are in the same car. LOL!

Mine wants to help me find what I am looking for. He has a great sense of color and design and has found some great fabrics for me, but sometimes I just want to browse and he does not seem to understand that.

I thought that was funny! You got one of those kind of husbands! The other ladies probably don't understand because their husband's probably are not mouthy and controlling! lol. I don't blame you one bit. I have friends that their husband's are like that. Mine just sits in the car and sleeps. He never says nothing, about how much I spent or how long I took. I guess, as long as mama's happy, everybody is happy! You have a great night/day! Hugs!

I guess we're lucky in that we both love Home Depot and Lowe's type stores. We both enjoy doing projects around the house and "making stuff" and we will spend lots of time together drooling over fancy power tools, big rolling tool boxes and nice workbenches; fantasizing about "someday" when we'll get our garage set up for woodworking. I got a drill press for Christmas last year and I was THRILLED! I still don't really have a space in the garage to USE it yet but some day we'll get it set up properly and then I think quilting will take a break while I go make sawdust for awhile, LOL.

When my husband gets mean with me, I don't feel the need to punish him. I do feel the need to cook chicken for dinner which is his least favorite meal. It is healthy and we need to eat healthier especially when he is gripey. It must be because he is not feeling well and eating right. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
