I just got an email the other day from a clothing distributor that their prices are going up 5-7%...these are garments that I buy to embroider and resell at craft (type) shows. They are also closing out on major manufacturers. From now on I will try to make my purchases thru another local embroidery shop. We are in a non-compete selling situation. I tend to be a bit of a pessimist/realist....I'm probably going to start going to weekend yard sales and flea mkts. Keep on keeping on. fmd36 in NH

If anyone is interested, I've just had an email from Thousand and One Bolts and they have a sale on which ends on the 28th June. They have 1,500 fabrics on sale at prices ranging from $3.00 through to $4.00 a yard. This sale includes fabric from Moda, RJR, Red Rooster, Fabric Freedom, Hoffman and South Seas Imports to name a few. I went on there just to have a look, and yes, I bought another 6 yards, just to top up my stash.

I think this might be the link Irishlady was referring to: http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/index.cfm

This may be off-topic - a little

Name three things that have gone down in price in the past five years -

I can think of a couple things that have gone down in the past few years, but it isn't prices. :?

If we think percentage wise increases, I don't think fabric has increased as rapidly as some other products - I paid $8.00/yard at a LQS for some fabric in 1992 - and Mom paid $10.00 for some fabric with the "gold metallic" at a LQS in the same time frame.

I remember the prices because I just relocated the fabric and it had 1992 on the selvage and I only bought a "little of it" at the time because of the price.
