Find that either of these colors accent a quilt, even in a baby quilt, the black is nice. What does everybody think?

I like black and white together with an accent color, or alone with other colors to help make them pop :D:D:D

I would never have thought about black until I staerted seeing them here. Now they are beginning to be some of my favorites.

I like black and white. My first class was called 'On Point'. We had to select 28 different fabrics of 1/8 yd. each. I chose black and white. When I finished with the boby of the quilt, I added red for accent.
P.S. It's awkward to go to a fabric shop and carry 28 bolts to the cutting table and ask for 1/8 yards of each.

I have done two completely black and white quilts, queen and king size. I like them, they are striking, but I like the other quilts with just a little black in them, I find them as striking, never would have thought of doing that, but am going to. And another one I would like to do is a quilt with more plain white in it. On the top of my list for now.

I have noticed that too. I've even been using black items around the house. I recently redid some pictures I've had hung up forever and I just put them all in black frames and grouped them all together and it turned out great.

Once on a decorating show, I designer said each room should have at least one black item in it, whether it be a lamp, frames, etc. And she is right, it is good.

Oh, my do I love using black in my quilts. It just seems to anchor the design. I am using it extensively in a design I am working up using oriental fabrics. I made a grandmothers fan with black in it and it sold at the Women's Ministry Christmas Sale for $375.00. That was several years ago and I was a new quilter. It was only the third quilt I had made and everyone loved it saying the black really made the quilt.

My sister and I made a black & white for DS's wedding gift. It was really pretty.
