Default Vintage cut out found

Hi, I got this at a thrift store a couple years ago. It was a cut out and I quilted both sides and the top is open so I need to bind the top and add a hanger on one side to hang on the door or window. The pattern suggested put some evergreens coming out of the top. Do you girls and guys have any suggestion for this. I will hang on my door. Wow if you had a fire place it would look nice above it.

Are you going to finish it as a giant stocking? A hanging loop in the top like a regular stocking might work. Pin a loop to the top and see if the stocking hanging that way will fit on your door.
You may need to hang it along the top and if that is the case, I would cut a wire hanger apart and hand stitch the wire along the top edge to hang from.

Tartan , It is open at the top and I am going to bind and thank you for reminding me about the loop at one corner. I will do that and if it does not hang good, I will use one of those commanders on the door and other piece on the stocking. Do you think I need to add any thing else the the stocking? It has some nice glitter already on it.I could sew a red metal jingle bell to his had? Thanks for all you help!

That’s just beautiful, brings back memories of childhood. If you had a floating shelf even if you didn’t have a mantle it would be great as a stocking. Can’t wait to see the picture of the thing you’re thinking about making though.

What a great vintage Santa! And look at the toys in his sack... not one 'electronic' or battery-operated in sight! That's my kind of Santa...

I think Command hangers can only be used inside -- not outside. Check the package before purchasing.
