Thank you fabricluvr!! I bookmarked that site for birthday requests. Not till May--but something tells me I won't need it till then anyway!

This forum has just lit my quilting fire!! :!: :!: :!: :!:

Hmm--is that a good thing and only a good thing? YES--except that now my teaching job is even more in the way of all the other stuff I want to do!! :D I need more hours!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Fabricluvr You will LOVE the program!! I got mine about a year ago and have designed a bunch of quilts! Just finished two for gifts. Downloaded it and spent 4 hours playing! Great for beginers like me!!! :D

Boy!! You guys are sure fast at wecoming new members! And all this time I put off joining! Just like to let you know that I got this program cause it was CHEAP! Couldn't afford the other one. Besides I think it would be too many toys for me! When you download it Fabricluvr don't forget to go to the archives and download all the projects they have put out!! Great ideas. And you will learn how to save the fabric swatches and quilt blocks in the projects for other uses! It is great fun for the money! They have one project for each month of the year since 2003 if I can remember. So plan for a long, long session if you save them all. And thanks to all for the warm welcome!!

I found the free downloads--but do you need to own the program for them to work? I tried but I can't open them anywhere. :(

What beautiful quilts I've seen!! :D

:D that's the first thing i did was download all of the projects! i saved them all to a cd so i'll have them forever!

my next step is to go through the lessons to learn about what the software can really do. i've been wondering how to get all of the fabric swatches to show up!

yep, you need the software. that's why i really wanted it because of one of the projects. they all have a .qdw extension. can't open them with other software.

Lots of fun isn't it? When you go to a project it will give you the fabrics in that project. Click on the ones you want to save and then click "save to favorites". You do the same for the blocks. I saved a couple of blocks from placemats and runners to use on future quilts. I have designed a couple that I am sending to my grandsons shortly and I have a bunch that I have just designed and maybe will do one day. I save them under my own names so I can go back and find them easy. I haven't printed out the instructions for anything but I have checked them out. I like to do rotory cutting so I print out those directions for the size block I want. It is really a fun thing to play with.
