Starching the fabric before cutting really helps a lot.
Flower head pins are very helpful for pinning the fabric stacks in place. Regular pins make cutting the stacks more difficult. :D:D:D

Be careful to read through the book before starting. Unless you've had a class or talked to someone who has made one of these, the assembly can be a little confusing. Pages 31,40 and 41 of the book will clarify it.
A friend of mine made one of these and missed the note on 31 and sewed all the hexes together and then had to unsew the halves.

I seriously advise that, since you will be cutting triangles which = oodles of off-grain edges, STARCH STARCH STARCH before you cut, and handle carefully. Other than that, Go For It! And post pictures of your progress!
