I'm very pleased with the shortE. It's easy to use. The set up and take down is a breeze. The sandwiching is sooo much easier!!!!! The frame is sturdy and well made and I believe well worth the price. I was prepared to spend 1000's more.

And yes PaperPrincess, I have been able to do some fmq. I have to pin or baste a little bit more and not use the hoop when that method is used. The frame really helps with the weight and bulk of the fabric.

It works wonderfully with the embroidery feature. Yay!!! (I have the hoop that was suggested to use.)

I think life just likes to give us lot's of choices. Just when I find this wonderful tool to use and to get acquainted with and am wanting to play and have fun with it, we've got an interested buyer for our home and it's under contract at this time. If all goes well, we will be out of this home by the end of June. So now my main focus is packing and cleaning and moving! This has been going on for a long time so I'm very ready to not be in limbo any longer. Timing; isn't it great. Sure gives me something to look forward to though.

Every quilter should take their time and find the correct equipment for their situation. I have quilted on my Bernina 1530 for almost two decades and found with correct support for the quilt on my left side and behind the sewing machine, I have easily quilted up to queen size quilts without any problem.
A Good Friend, like an old quilt, is both a Treasure and a Comfort

Oh how I envy your skill. I agree with you on the support for the quilt. I could just not find it. I love the fact that you quilt queen size quilts. I always end up with big ones. Love this stuff we do.

My DH can build anything out of PVC pipe when it's cost savings to do so and when I showed him the picture of the frame he said Nope, won't save enough to justify not buying it even at regular price.

What a wonderful price for your long arm! I couldn't begin to get into one under $6,000. And that was not one I really liked. It's good to hear that you are happy with yours and finding the enjoyment it offers you.

Two other things helped me decide on getting the shortE.
    1. The space needed for a long arm. No matter how much I measured I needed a couple more feet to have enough room.
    2. I've spent an incredible amount of time learning the embroidery process and to be able to use that feature to quilt my quilts is such a great opportunity to use what I have with my machine.

The learning of long arming is another cost in time and effort. I'm sure I would of loved it. Perhaps a ways down the road I may change my mind. I just love quilting and everything about it. Isn't it a wonderful thing to have what we do. It makes our lives so much fuller and richer.
    SEW MUCH FUN!
