Default I Can't Decide the Layout

I have a horrible habit of not completely reading or listening to directions. I took a class from Jenny Doan on Craftsy on using precuts. One quilt she showed was using charm packs and a jelly roll. The jelly roll you cut 7" long and put on the top/bottom of the charm pack. Then on the sides you put a charm pack cut in half. I had four yards of fabric for my next project so thought I'd cut it into the correct sizes. Instead of going back to watch the class first I just cut all the fabric into 5" squares. Ooops!!! Now I have all these squares I'm trying to figure out how to lay out.

I like the 9 patch version.

I like the middle picture. You could also do a disappearing 9-patch with the squares.

Beautiful fabrics! Given your scenario, I think I would find a coordinating fabric and add narrow sashing.

Go back and watch/listen to the class again. At least that way, you'll know what you SHOULD have done. Then, if you can, find a co-ordinating piece of fabric to use as the jelly roll portion. Or alternately, go with a co-ordinating fabric as sashing between the 9 patch blocks.

Agree! I like the nine patches best, and definitely not the last picture where all the fabrics in the four patch are the same. What would be the point of that...

I think the 9 patch with sashing is a really nice idea!

I like the 9 patch, not the last one.
