There is something very special about mitered corners and I am glad you learned how to do it. I think it is easier than it appears. There are such good instructions available. I am glad you have a new skill.

Congratulations! I am always intimidated by those and have to relearn how to do them every time. They sure add a nice touch to borders.

My first miters were a chore. I was trying too hard and over thinking. Now I fold and glue baste miters exactly where I want them to be, press, then sew the seam.

I bet it feels good to stretch yourself. I have thought about it a few times but never tried it.

Congrats on getting the technique conquered. When I use to miter corners, I would first baste the seam, trim a 2" seam allowance, press it and check to make sure it was perfect. If it measure up , then I would restitch the seam and when the quilt was pinned, I then pulled back and trim down the seam allowance. It seemed when I did them, I would always find just one corner slightly off.

Congratulations on another skill! I was afraid of them as well, till I just took the plunge. Now, all my quilts have mitered (sometimes double or triple )borders. I only do straight borders if I am incorporating a corner stone.

Way to go! I have never mitered a border--It's on my bucket list but I always end up backing away....

Any tips for me. I want to do this as I am putting three small boarders on my quilt ( just cut the borders), I already chickened out and decided to put corner stones. LOL. Is it as hard as I imagine or am I really over thinking this.

Good for you! I have the last border to put on a quilt and it is supposed to be mitered. I've been looking at it for at least 2 years. On of these days I will get up the nerve to try it!
