What is the mat thing called that is white and shiney that you put over your feed dogs when FMQ'ing ?
If you know. Do you use it ?? will it make the quilt slide better?
I have been practicing on scraps but the quild doesnt slide very well at all. My stitches look horrible.

Supreme slider or something like that. Others use a silicone baking mat or oven liner and say it does the same thing.

I have one and don't know what I did before having it.
Pricey but worth it.

Just a piece of clear vinyl that you can buy on a roll works the same way for a LOT less money.

I found my machine quilting didn't improve until I got the Machingers gloves. They really help to move the sandwich. I also found that small sandwiches like pot holder size were too small for FMQ. You need something about 20 X 20 for your hands to rest on and a big enough area for quilting.
