Made a lot of them last year. Gave them all away. Mine was given to me along with the pattern. It is more for taking things that you need on an outing or class. I drop in a small purse if I go anywhere with it. I prefer making smaller purses for myself and even they can get heavy with all the gadgets that fit inside them.

On the other hand, the X-bag has worked out so well for me, I think I've made 5 of them over the last couple of years. I made them seasonal. I've worn two of them out.

This board could almost use a section devoted to bags!
(This has nothing to do with the purses) but I just wanted to say the ornament on your avatar is the cutest thing! My sister gave me one and I love it.

I don't mean to hijack this topic either, but, I'm glad you like your ornament!

I was in Barnes & Noble today picking up my NEW Nook Color and saw a gal going around the corner with a handbag that really caught my eye! I said to myself...I WANT THAT BAG!!!!

    Got closer and guess what?????

It was a BOW TUCK handbag - she was proudly wearing it, said she had BOUGHT it at a craft show and LOVES it!

LOL Now, I have to make me another one!!!

BTW - the Snowman Bow Tucks on page 13 is ADORABLE!

 Me too !!! Although I'd like to have the experience of having made a purse, I know it would get me tied up in knots to actually TRY. 8-)

I went to my favorite quilt shop today (Twisted Scissor) and bought the Bow Tuck pattern....I wasn't kiding when I said I really like them and want to make them. My grandkids' school fund raiser is coming up in February and I hope to have a bunch to take for them to sell. I think they will be a big seller!
