Braving it, I used stripes. three are straight across, one is a little diagonal, dang it. Too much trouble and probably impossible to un-sew. I need the galloping horse for sure. Does anybody else avoid them like I do?

The trick is to use them all wonky or all on the bias.

Most people avoid them, but I seek them out. You'll notice that they are always on the clearance shelves at quilt stores.

JenniePenny - your quilt is amazing - you certainly have and "eye".
I've only used stripes is a scrappy quilt. Recently used a piece of fabric.. baby blue background with a sort of star design in lines making it a striped fabric. Not lined up so very disappointing but learned my lesson to check design in the future when dealing with stripe-type pattern.

The fabric you choose for this quilt is a very high quality. Its stripe is very true to the grain. Just one of the reasons I like Peggy Toole ( Kaufman) fabrics. I buy them when I find them. It really makes working with stripes a pleasure rather than a real pain.
