I hope this is the right place to post this.
My DD's boyfriends mother has asked me to make a quilt for her. They just bought a new home and she is in the decorating phase. They painted the master bedroom in Burgundy and Black. It is really pretty. She has been looking for a new quilt but all the stores have is flowery quilts and she is not a flower kind of person.
I am asking if any of you have ever made a quilt in burgundy and black? If so will you be willing to show me a pic of it. I am looking for ideas to show her plus I am curious as to how these colors will look in a quilt.

I don't have a picture but I know I've seen this color combination with moss green and ecru and it looked very pretty. Maybe take a trip to the paint store and get her paint chips to play with. I learned this from the design shows on HGTV, which I watch way too much of. Good luck, sounds like you've taken on a challenge. Let us see what you come up with, ok?

This would be pretty with a burgundy fabric

All that comes to my mind is Kona solids and a Amish pattern maybe? Kind of jewel tones with a black frame? I think it could be real pretty.

Well atleast it is not black and brown. Asked a dear friend what her favorite colors are as I want to make her a quilt. I ended up deciding on a pattern from quiltville.com called starstruck. I will be working in some red to make it sparkle and less manly.

Those are pretty! Not as pretty as yours will be but they are pretty! Black & Burgandy are nice together

Since those are both very dark colors, I think I'd be temped to add some other colors in lights and mediums.

That's what I would do too but she made it clear she only wants the 2 colors. I'm only doing this cause I really like her and her son and my DD are perfect together. Otherwise I don't do commission quilts but this could be the start of something new for me.

There are a lot of quilts/patterns that are specifically designed for two colors. You might try doing a search for
that.

http://www.powells.com/biblio?isbn=9780696220937 Let me look and see if I have this book. I think I do. If so, I'll pm you and we'll work something out if you want.

Right now, I'm going to bed since I have to get up in about 3 hours to get ready for church.
