When I first got my mid arm I did a pantograph quilt and was thrilled. I took it to Quilt Guild and my good friend said the quilting looked like a mattress pad. Crushed.

I have done stitch in the ditch, and overall pattern. Stitch in the ditch is harder to do. You can't fudge it if you happen to stitch in the wrong place.

Do what is best for you. If you like it, it is correct.

There are just too many negative people out there.

    If it
was cop-out so many people wouldn't be doing it.

I SID all the time. I don't always hit the ditch, but who cares. I love what I do and don't want to pay the money for Longarm. I have done FMQ, but I get frustrated with that. Just do what you feel comfortable with and forget making a quilt for that person.

Don't let what anyone says bring you down. The only person you have to please is you and if your happy it is no ones business UNLESS they a paying you a large amount to LA their quilt for big bucks. I love all the fancy quilting but grew up with quilts made 50-75 years ago and never saw one with the fancy stuff of today and we loved them anyway. Many back then were tied quilt and they looked and worked great. Keep on quilting and if anyu one dares complain, tell them lets see you do better, then you can show me how you didi it, other wise MYOB.

Is this person actually a quilter or just spouting off they know nothing about? Seriously. SID has probably been around as long as quilt have been. Some designs really need, and benefit from, SID in order to really highlight the design.
