I have a chance to buy a Bernina Virtuosa 153QE for $450 and includes a walking foot and a plastic container with extra feet in it. Do you think this would be a good price for this? She is waiting for someone to let her know if they want it or not. If not, she is going to let me know.

Looks like a good deal. Have you read these reviews? http://sewing.patternreview.com/SewingMachine/Bernina (about 2/3 the way down the page)
Found one that just sold in New Zealand. Price about $1,000 US dollars.
Good luck! Hope you get it, it sounds lovely.

YES! Grab it!! The price is excellent, the machine is excellent, and the work is excellent. I have one, bought it used for $800 this spring. There was a survey somewhere that said the 153QE was one of the most "regretted not keeping" machines ever. Meaning that people who traded up really regretted not keeping the 153 in addition to their newer machine. The only thing is if you plan to take it to classes, it is quite heavy. The nice thing about the weight is that it does not move around at all. It's a great machine and I love mine dearly!

Got mine crossed, too! If she doesn't contact you, contact her, so you get off those pins and needles one way or the other!
Best of luck!
