We are a very large and welcoming club the sew your finger to your quilt club. I bet almost everyone has done it at one time.

I was wearing Machinger's gloves. Well, ran my second finger of my right hand under the needle somehow. My first reaction was to jerk my hand away. Bent the needle and broke it off. I pulled it out of the other side of my finger. Then realized that the thread was still attached to the quilt and the machine and so had to cut it to pull it thru my finger.
Fortunately It did not go through the nail, nor hit the bone but was far enough in that if the needle had not broken I would have really ripped my finger bad.
Didn't even get blood on the quilt! There is a spot of blood on the top of the glove finger and on the bottom.
It is a bit sore today. I can type "ok" but it is not a happy camper.
I guess I can finally join the club!
oh Gayle, so sorry. Don't make it sound like it's an eventuality!!!
I am a clutz from way back and don't want membership.
Got to get me one of those forked thingies for pushing my fabric around
near needle. Thanks for the reminder to keep our appendages away.
I hope your finger heals quickly. all the way through? maybe see a doc.
It is a blessing, to be a blessing !

Welcome to the club, although it is a club that I wish I hadn't joined, but it happens. I once tried to sew my thumbnail, but fortunately the needle didn't go far, that's what I get for being in a hurry and not paying attention. Hope you heal quickly.

Welcome to the club! Glad it wasn't too bad. I've done it to my left pointer finger once and the right one twice with 3 different machines. It is amazingly easy to do, even though I have several stilettos, seam rippers, and a purple Thang. I still keep pushing with my finger and not the stiletto or other things.

Thank you everyone. It is doing pretty good. A little sore, but not too bad. Just thankful it did not hit the bone or tear out.

I was FMQ, had my Machinger's gloves on but the fabric, being a little sparkly, did not slide well. I think I kinda came in sideways and just got it!

I joined the club two times unfortunately. 2nd time hurt the most broke the needle and had to tug with tweezers to get the needle out of my finger.
