I have joined the "Sewed my finger" club

I was working away on a quilt last night doing some Free Motion quilting. The backing fabric is a little "sparkly" and was not sliding around on my table very well. I was wearing Machinger's gloves. Well, ran my second finger of my right hand under the needle somehow. My first reaction was to jerk my hand away. Bent the needle and broke it off. I pulled it out of the other side of my finger. Then realized that the thread was still attached to the quilt and the machine and so had to cut it to pull it thru my finger.
Fortunately It did not go through the nail, nor hit the bone but was far enough in that if the needle had not broken I would have really ripped my finger bad.
Didn't even get blood on the quilt! There is a spot of blood on the top of the glove finger and on the bottom.
It is a bit sore today. I can type "ok" but it is not a happy camper.
I guess I can finally join the club!

Oh No!!! I wish this was a club you had chosen not to join. It sounds just awful. Be kind and gentle to yourself as you heal....and don't do this again. You sound so calm and brave about it all. I really admire that.

Welcome to the club! Not that this is a sorority that you'd really want to join.

    Heal well and quickly!

Oh, I am sorry for you! Maybe you should get a tetnius shot! Can't even spell it good enough to find in the dictionary.

Fortunately it has only been about 3 years since my last tetanus shot. That was one of the first questions my DH asked me
