Question I have a query about sewing machines

Hello!
Very good morning! I have a question for those people who can advise me.
My Elna Q6600 has a very small arc for quilting, so I am in search of a new machine.
With an arc of 11 '', they offered me an Elna 740 or an Janome 7700 (greatest thing entering my country).
Both are on sale at 1,200 km from my hometown, so it will be a purchase "blindly", because I can not travel personally in this case.
I would like to know what is your opinion on both machines. If anyone has been able to compare them: what would be your choice?
From already thank you for your opinions!
A big hug!

Personally, I am a Janome fan. I have the 1600 P-C (for piecing) and the 9500 for special stitches and embroidery. I do also have other brands, but these 2 are my favorite.

Maybe you could find some videos on youtub? You could see and hear how they sew. Both my Janomes are nice and quite with no vibrations.

Hello, knlsmith!
Thank you very much for your comment!
That machines not vibrate and have good response to use, is what I needed to know.
I bought the Elna Q6600 instead of a cheaper Brother, because the Brother vibrated a lot at high speed.
I hope to be lucky this week when the new purchase!
Have a good day and a big hug!

I have the 7700 and love her. One of the best investments I ever made. There is a yahoo group: JanomeHorizon7700_8900 Join this group to learn all the good, bad and beautiful about this machine. Good Luck!

From what others have posted, I think most like the Janome 7700. I don't have so can not talk from experience.

I would get the Janome. That brand has an excellent reputation right now. Elna used to have a great reputation, but it went downhill for a couple of decades; although they might be better now, I no longer trust the brand.

I believe they are the exact same machine just with different names so it would be your preference

Janome makes Elna machines so Dolphyngyrl is correct - they are the same machine. Where you will find differences will be in dealer support and warranty and maybe in the number of feet included with each machine.

Edited because I spelled Dolphyngyrl's name wrong.
