I was told by a non-quilting friend that my local Walmart had some bolts of fabric back on the shelves, so I had to go see for myself. Yup, she was right. They are now just beginning to get the fabric back and are stocking the shelves. The best thing though, is that all the pre-cuts are now on clearance for $2.00. Couldn't resist buying some! A fellow that works there, don't know if he was the manager, said that they listened to all the requests to bring the fabric back, and that they will be posting a message in the store by the fabric regarding all the requests. Some of the fabric is the same as the fabric lines that they had carried before. Pricing is a little higher, some at $4.95. He also told me that our local store had sold the most fabric in the state. Can't understand why they would have gotten rid of it if that was true! So, I hope the rest of you get your fabric back too!

We were lucky and never lost the fabric dept. in one of the two Walmarts in our town. The dept. did get rather skimpy on fabric, but now is looking so much better.

We did not lose our fabric at our wally world, and they are putting in so much more...talked to the salesgirl and she said they never were going to close it, and they had a lot of responses. That is why we love America, we can let people know what we like without fear of retailation...

According to the fabric department manager, we were subject to losing our fabrics as well. There was so much pressure from the customers, they have now done some rearranging, added more shelves and completely re-vamped the whole department. Not only is it restocked, but better and newer fabrics have been added. It was truly a joy to shop there today!

Walmart was the only place that had a good selection of seasonal fabric. My LQS carries Christmas but not the other holidays. I sure hope that our Walmart brings back bolts but I'm not holding my breath.

Never lost my fabric at either of the Wal-marts I routinely shop at, but it'll be nice to know that others can get their quilting fix.

I just dont get it, I asked the walmart mgr of customer service (couldnt find the store mgr) yesterday and she said they werent bringing back the fabric
The thing is, we dont have a fabric store in town and the closest there is one is 90 min away - so they dont even have anyone selling to complain they would lose business. I have to get the store number and start an email campaign. sharet

DH works at Walmart. I was up there tonight but didn't see him (he was at home for his lunch) also didn't see the big sign saying Fabric Coming Soon!!!! He asked me when he got home if I noticed it. Guess he will be seeing a lot more of me when he is working :)
