Default I love this board

This is the best place. I was wondering the dimensions and how much to binding I was going to need for an over-sized full quilt so I googled it to find out and guess what. the best answer can from here. well a link to the answer came from here. cool huh? by the way I figure that I am going to need around 360" of binding. (just for my sake that sounds right right?) and so with the width I plan on making it I will need around 1 3/4 yards of fabric. I hope that this is what I need and not more. exciting huh?

Surprise! Surprise! I love this board too! Ask any question (thread fabric mitered corners) and most of the time there will be an answer from one of these wonderful ladies!

If you are cutting your strips for binding selvage to selvage you need about 3/4 yd. Nine or ten strips cut 2 1/2". If you are cutting lengthwise or making wider strips then the amount may be different.

I love this board too. I spend any time I have here. Just looking and reading. One of these days I'm gonna take pictures of my already done quilts and put them on here. Not many tho'. I'm still trying to quilt. I have a lot of otherlwork I have to do. We office in our house and I fix a large lunch. After that Ii'm tired. So I just get on here and look. Maxine

I also love this board. I only joined about a month ago and am so glad I did. It seems that whatever the question, there is someone here who has the answer.

I agree with Jackie. 3/4 yard will be plenty for 2.5" binding strips cut across the WOF.

I am making a Sylvias Bridal Sampler, the other day I had a question, so I went to one of their web sites to ask, I received an e-mail that said my question was ignored or something to that effect, so I got on here and asked and with in minutes I had my answer. From now on I will ask here first. By the way, the web site I went to, I subscribed to, I canceled my subscribtion.

they are actually strips cut at about 4.5" so need more fabric. I do like a thicker binding. but that is just me. this place is awesome.
