Wow!AshleyR sounds like you've got enough business to keep you busy for a while! Take up those offers!

Myself, I love the whole process, learning FMQ right now, so hope to get a bit better. Yes, I'm practicing on every quilt I make and see improvement on every quilt!

That is the part I really really like the best, making the tops, cutting out the fabrics, feeling them, figuring out the colors, stitching.lol

Sounds like a good idea to find a partner. There are lots of people that will hire for hand quilting. Some folks here were backed up for a long long time.

I love to make tops (have stacks and stacks of them). Usually quilt only when I have a request or need a gift.
Too bad we're not closer, possibilities are endless :>)
Let me know if you consider relocating to the Kansas City area LOL

I'm not the OP, but for hand quilting I prefer wool or poly. I dislike working with cotton or cotton blends. The batts that are easiest for me to procure are Quilters Dream brand so they go in the quilts frequently.

I love quilting. I love hand-quilting and I'm good at it. I am having fun practicing machine quilting, but I'm not good at it at all (yet!). I would love to quilt for hire but who can afford a hand-quilter??! My dream is to partner up with someone who loves to piece and she/he makes the tops and bastes them (ha) and I quilt them. :)

BUY THEM,ebay does lots.

I have purchased 2 tops off ebay since then! I am always looking for more to quilt! I am getting Sooooo much better with my machine quilting and seem do to it more than hand-quilting! But if you're still interested in doing a swap, send me a PM. I lost all the ones from before the forum change.

And I am always hoping to find someone that will buy my extra tops. AT last count I had 95 of them. Many I have used for lecture and class samples cause I only take real tops and quilts to lectures. I like the quilting too, but how many quilts do I really need?
