Sounds to me like you are a good candidate for some Durham (wholecloth) quilting. I love doing white on white, but any colours will work. Or what about Sashiko? In these, the design of the quilting is more important, which sounds like it might be more your thing.

I wish I lived closer to you too. I am a TOPPER! I love to piece the tops, but really hate the quilting part. I don't hand-quilt at all, and don't usually even machine quilt my own unless its something small like a placemat or wall hanging.

I love to piece tops and my BFF loves to machine quilt. We often trade services - I'll piece something for her in exchange for her quilting something for me. Right now I have to make bumper pads for her goddaughter and she is quilting a wall hanging for me. It is a great quilting relationship.

Pick me, Pick me. I have about a dozen tops done that need quilted. I love to make the tops but not the quilting so much.

Now that I have the hang of machine-quilting, I don't hand-quilt much. However, I would be interested in a trade.. if you want it machine-quilted! I can't afford to buy any more tops since my husband lost his job. If you want to trade a top for free quilting, I'm game!

Have you thought about doing a whole cloth quilt? They made them pre stamped, I started one 20 years old and sometimes I still bring it out for a month or so. You can created your own design on solid wide quilt backing, and hand quilt it to your heart's disere, it will be a masterpiece.
