Default I LOVE Tax Refunds!

Howdy y'all :c)

I've had a list made out of what I wanted/needed to use my tax refund money for since July. LOL! At the top of the list was a sewing machine that I could drop the feed dogs on so I could learn how to do free-motion quilting. I pretty much figured that I'd be getting a used machine, since my budget was limiting me to right around $500. So as soon as I filed for my refund, I started calling around to the quilt shops in town.

One place I called seemed like they were going to be helpful until I told the lady how much i could spend. Her "helpfulness" did an abrupt about face and she flat out told me she couldn't work with me at all. The second place I called asked me what my price range was right off the bat, and the woman honestly laughed out loud when I told her. She LAUGHED at me!!

Thankfully, the last place I called was very helpful! They specialize in the Bernina machines in her shop, and she is also the most reasonable in servicing machines as well. She told me she wasn't going to be able to help me as far as getting a machine with a bigger throat area like I was hoping for, but she could give me a good price on a NEW machine! So I sat down and played while she showed me some of the features on some of the machines in the Bernette line.

Sooooo...I ended up ordering a new Bernette 20 machine! She gave me $199.00 off of the price of it and told me I will get a free lesson on how to use it! I also had her order a book for me on beginner FMQ, and got some books off of her clearance rack as well. My new baby is supposed to come in Wednesday! I can't wait!!! Now to come up with a name for her.....

Congrats to you! It's always fun to get something new, the waiting is hard, but as soon as she is here I'm sure you will be as happy as can be! So sorry for the others who couldn't help you-I guess you really can have the last laugh! I have a Bernina that I got such a good price on and I'm so happy with my machine. It was used on a cruise ship for quilting classes that we got such a good deal and full gaurentee (spelling?) with the machine. It does more than I will ever use but what a beautiful machine to use! Congrats to you!

Congratulations. You've not only found a new machine, but a good dealer as well.

I think you will be very happy with your new machine. A guild member has an older Bernette and it sews like a dream. She has used it at every class and workshop since I've been a member.
