I love it but can't find the name or a pattern. I think it may be called black diamond but that may not be right. Thanks!

Well, it's similar to the Carpenter's Wheel. Might be a variation.

I think that's it! Thank you! I was looking for something with star in the name. I think I just found the pattern for my quilt for my bed......now I jsut have to finish everyone else's!

I was looking at quiltuniversity and saw it in a class they're offering. I can't afford to take the class right now (even though its only $28) but I can start planning!

This looks like Carpenter's Wheel Star--very pretty block--I am teaching this block in just a few weeks

Very similar to a Carpenter's Wheel, but not quite.. usually a in a carpenters wheel, the outer band of diamonds or parallelograms are all symmetrical, those are not. I agree, it may be a variation. Very nice.
