my nieces birthday. I changed the handle since it was only on one side for a catch all bag. It still needs the handles to be top stitched to the top of the bag but this was my first ever zipper. Not to bad but could have been better.

I hope so she asked me for a pink purse with flowers on it, and she drew me a picture of what it was to look like.

Renee--you did a fabulous job! She is going to love it!! I think your fabrics are really cute--did you buy a charm pack to make it with?

Oh yes Moda charm pack then like 1/2 yd for lining and top, 12 inch zipper and 1/4 for handle. I have enough to make another purse but just have to buy 1/2 for the lining. Directions were very confusing that is why the zipper isn't very good. hahahahhaa But she's 8 and loves anything i make for her.

You did a great job-especially for your first time!! Now you need to make one for yourself!!

If you post the zipper directions maybe I can help you with them. I did garment sewing for about a gazillion years before I started quilting (like so many others here) and I have put in countless zippers.
