My SIL wants me to make 3 tablecloths for their tailgating tables. They go to all of the Oregon State Beavers games! (GO BEAVS!) Anyway, i'm having trouble deciding which patterns to use. there are two 2x3 tables & one 6x3. i was thinking of doing a bargello for the big one. any ideas? the OSU colors are black & orange. thanks in advance!

Keep it simple - they will probably get spilled on and will need frequent washing.

Also - wash your fabrics before cutting them.

Yikes! I agree. something really simple and washable!
Hate to think of a masterpiece in work and design getting stained and ruined. Or include clear vinyl cut to cover your tablecloths.

Simple, very large 4 or 9 patch blocks, various light to dark orange. Applique over them in black, "Go Beavers" and/or other sayings in the center and beaver silhouettes around the borders.

I wouldn't put a lot of time into them, use a simple pattern.
They will more than likely be abused with food spilled on them and thrown in a box after the game. And washed who knows when.

Do they have such a thing as OSU fabric? I would just use that and hem it... no piecing, no batting and no backing.

Trim with a little Fabric if available or a couple of Beaver appliques on the ends to hang over, might even check with a local company that decals their goods to see if you could have the logo silk screened on, or make your own design on the computer, print to fabric sheets.
Good Luck!! and enjoy your tailgating

I agree with everyone, personally I wouldn't make a fancy Bargello only to have someone spill something on it that wouldn't come out...
