Default I need help in replacing a spool pin on my Brother CS-8072

In piecing some quilt blocks, I broke the spool pin on my Brother sewing machine. I was able to find another and it arrived last week. But, I can't find out how to replace the spool pin. Does anyone have one of these models or know how to replace this spool pin? The user manual doesn't have any info on doing this.

I have tried to find help online, but can't find anyone who knows how to do this. There must be an easy way to do this if you can so readily find the parts.

Thanks for any help!

Is it a plastic spool pin?

I think you would need to unscrew the top cover, lift it off, and then use a screwdriver or similar tool to pop the broken spool pin out of the cover. My dh has done this for me on vintage machines. I think it is more of a puzzle to figure out how to get the cover off of the newer machines; often there are hidden clips. My dh is a whiz at figuring out stuff like that, me -- not so good......

You are not the only one to do this, skydiver; mine's broken too. I was wondering the same thing!

I think you have to open the machine, I think the screw on inside, cause i had my screw get loose, and the spool pin came off, not broken but just fell off, but I could seen where it attaches so it either attaches by a pin or a screw, either way it is on the inside and you will have to open the machine

Maybe you could go online to brother .com & at least get thier phone number & ask the tech to help you. I have talked to them before & they helped me.
