Default I need to make a baby quilt

I need to make a baby quilt by December for a spring baby. She wants colorful fabric, bright and cheery. I would like to make a fool proof baby quilt. One without flying geese, or anything too hard for sure. What would be a cute pattern for a baby quilt? I was thinking about a churn dash with sashings and corner blocks around each block. Is there an easier, prettier baby quilt pattern I could make? I don't work well under pressure and this is pressure to me. I usually just make quilts I like and then give them away to people I want to give them to. I have never made a baby quilt before. Any good ideas?

There are lots of awesome panels that you can add borders to and have a beautiful quilt in short time.

I've been making the Disappearing 9-Patch with assorted kid prints. Easy, fast, and looks great.

I like to make snowball blocks with kid fabrics, mixing them with nine patch makes a fun pattern.

There is a pattern at clotilde.com that is adorable. I've used it twice and have seen it posted here (or on the old QB-sorry not sure which). It's really simple.
it's called Diamond Patch

Warm Wishes is super easy and looks like it isn't. You could make the focus fabric with "I Spy" type squares, to make it even more interesting.

I agree with MadQuilter. d9p is very easy.

Here's a tut by Missouri Star QC. You wouldn't have to do a border like her's.

A baby is such a special person; please don't make it just a smaller version of an adult quilt. Make it shout BABY loud and clear. That child will probably have a good 75-80 years for an adult quilt, give it a definite BABY quilt now.
