I haven't started a topic on here before and I'm kinda new to the board, so I hope I'm doing this right. Anyway, I use Martelli Cutters - the company I work for sells them. They are extremely comfortable to use because they are ergonomically correct. However, after changing about 2 or 3 blades, it seems the cutter strips out. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? I've just about got to use this cutter because of being a rep but I do really like it.

What do you mean by "the cutter strips out"?

I have never used one, but I remember seeing a topic where someone had a problem with theirs and the company sent her a new one.

It tightens "counter-clockwise" not a typical way to tighten something like that..

Really? I don't think they will want to just keep sending them to me and my customers. My husband did just fire off a message to them and explained that the bolt should be about 1/8" longer. We'll see. Thanks for getting back to me. Bev

When you change the blade, the screw will not tighten up as tight as it should. I was cutting last night and my screww just fell off and I had tightened it as good as I could.

Yes, I know that, but thanks because a lot of people don't know that.

Could you find another screw that would fit it? Check out someone who repairs clocks if the screw is tiny, or someone who repairs guns. Might find just the right one.

I've discovered in my late DH's work shop sizes of screws that I never imagined existed. And I have no idea of what to do with them. Used a few here and there, but otherwise, no idea.

No great source of info but I would just work for the company and use a more popular brand! Shhhh... no one has to know!
I use Olfa and Fiskars. Both are great and never had any trouble with neither one.

I've been trying to visualize the blade direction. If you're right handed it turns clockwise, but if you use it in your left hand that makes the blade go counter clockwise. So it's a left handed cutter, right?
